CDF

Microsoft Active Channels and the PointCast Network are two popular "push" technologies that automatically deliver channels (Web pages) to Internet Explorer 4.0 browsers or PointCast Network client software. Each push technology uses a separate CDF file that specifies the channel's structure and lists the Web pages, images, and ActiveX Controls to be pushed by the channel. The CDF file also includes headlines describing channel content, downloading scheduling, and other options. Channel developers use HTML-like tags to create the CDF file.
